Some vehicles are built to go anywhere. The Arctic Trucks AT37 Land Cruiser is one of them. And when Canada's first-ever AT37 came out of KRave Automotive's shop in Calgary, there was only one question left to answer: how do you protect something this rare?

That's where SPS came in.

The Build: Canada's First Arctic Trucks AT37

KRave Automotive holds a significant distinction: They're Canada's first licensed Arctic Trucks builder.

The Arctic Trucks AT37 is a full re-engineering of the Toyota Land Cruiser 250/Prado platform.

It's certified to OEM and government standards, and built to go from technical rock crawls to daily driving without compromise.

KRAVE Automotive owner, Vill, walks through the full build story in our video — the specs, the engineering decisions, and what makes this the first of its kind in Canada.

The Build List:

Extensive Arctic Trucks frame, body, and bodywork modifications

37" Yokohama Tires mounted on Arctic Trucks Heritage Forged Wheels

Wider track width and extended wheelbase

Arctic Trucks and R53 performance suspension system

Arctic Trucks wide body package and mud guards

Arctic Trucks interior and exterior detailing throughout

Full Vehicle STEK DYNOmatte PPF Wrap by SPS

SPS Graphene Coating for several years of easy cleaning + protection for the vehicle

The Protection Package: STEK DYNOmatte + SPS Graphene Coating

A build of this significance doesn't get a standard protection package. Joey and Jyles from SPS went through the full picture in the video, but here's the breakdown:

STEK DYNOmatte Paint Protection Film — Full Vehicle Wrap

The AT37 arrived with factory black paint. The goal wasn't to change the look — it was to elevate it while locking in long-term protection. STEK DYNOmatte is a clear PPF with a satin matte finish that transforms gloss paint into a deep matte finish. The result looks like a purpose-built matte-black truck, while the original paint underneath remains factory-fresh.

DYNOmatte's technology gives the film self-healing properties (scratches recover with heat), stain resistance, and puncture resistance — all backed by a 10-year warranty against delamination, yellowing, bubbling, and cracking. SPS is a proud STEK advocate, and for a high-end application like this, it was the only choice.

SPS Graphene Coating — Applied Over Film

Once the STEK film was installed, the next step was SPS's flagship Graphene Coating. Applied directly over the PPF, the coating adds three critical layers of performance on top of the film's physical protection:

Hydrophobicity

Water beads and sheets off aggressively, meaning less contamination sticks to the surface.

Slick, easy to clean finish

A slick, low-friction surface that makes maintenance significantly faster.

UV protection

Shields the film from long-term sun exposure that can cause yellowing over time

Together, the two products create a system:

The STEK film handles physical impact.

The SPS Graphene Coating handles everything that the environment throws at the surface on an ongoing basis.

More Collaborating Brands

We'd like to give a special shoutout to Logan Moore and Greenlane Offroad on this project.

Greenlane supplied the skid plates, roof rack and front bumper for the Landcruiser and everything looked absolutely incredible when added to the already insane AT37 build that KRAVE Automotive had put together.

Most Arctic Truck builds use 37" BF Goodrich tires. KRAVE Automotive opted for a different option - a set of 37" Yokohama Geolandar AT XD tires.

KRAVE Automotive has battle-tested these tires on a variety of builds and felt they were the best-suited option for a vehicle of this calibre.

Yokohama has been fantastic to deal with. Stay tuned for more SPS collaborations with them!

Why Protection Matters for a Vehicle Like This

An Arctic Trucks AT37 is purpose-built for extreme conditions. That means gravel, rocks, mud, salt, UV, temperature swings, and more.

All the things that are hardest on paint and film over time. A proper protection package isn't optional on a vehicle like this. It's part of the build.

That's the philosophy behind Protected by SPS.

Introducing: Protected by SPS

This video is the first in an ongoing series where we go beyond the finished product and into the reasoning behind it.

Every vehicle has a different use case.

Every application calls for a different protection strategy.

In this series, we'll be breaking down the theory behind paint protection:

What products do, why they work, and how we tailor packages to the vehicle, the environment, and the owner.

More builds are coming. Stay tuned.

A Note on KRAVE Automotive

This project wouldn't have happened without our partners at KRAVE Automotive in Calgary, AB.

Their craftsmanship on this AT37 build is exceptional, and we're grateful for the ongoing collaboration and the trust they place in SPS to protect the vehicles coming out of their shop.

This is exactly the kind of partnership that makes work like this possible.

In Closing

Thanks for taking the time to read the post on this build.

At SPS, we're nerds about everything with tires and paint, and doing what we can to protect them.

We have some more cool projects lined up and we cannot wait to share more!

Until next time, stay clean out there.
